Lay the other side of the zipper face down on the half of the garment. Again, make sure the coil is 5⁄8" (1.5 cm) from the edge. Line up the coil into the right groove and stitch down until you reach the slider.

Now finish the seam. Match the seam up right sides together and fold the end of the zipper tape over to the right so it does not become caught in the seam. Flatten all the materials down as much as possible. Install the regular zipper foot, and, starting about 1⁄8" (3 mm) up and the same distance left of the existing seam, sew about an inch (2.5 cm) or so.

Switch to the all-purpose foot and finish the seam with 5⁄8" (1.5 cm) seam allowance.
